Guitar, Piano, Double Bass
A trilogy of singles was released from July to November 2023. Recorded at Masterchord Studios on a Steinway Model D grand piano, they feature multi-award-winning jazz guitarist Nigel Price (Best Guitarist at the British Jazz Awards) and talented double bassist Adam King. The result is classic jazz with a relaxed, ‘cool’ sound.
The first was a new arrangement of the timeless jazz ballad When Sunny Gets Blue, a song about heartbreak, tempered by a hint of hope for new love.

This was followed by Lullaby In Rhythm, originally released by Benny Goodman in 1938 but given a sparkling new recording and framed by a new intro and outro. This time the trio swings at a bouncy medium tempo.

The third single was Dr. Jackal, an uptempo blues, the title being a play on the name of its composer Jackie McLean.
